Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 (WWDC)
Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2011 (WWDC) kicks off Monday morning here in San Francisco.

Apple has said it will be talking about the next version of its Mac OS, dubbed Lion, along iCloud, which has been described only as a "cloud services offering." Also making its debut is iOS 5, the next major iteration of the software that runs on the iPhone, the iPod Touch, and the iPad.

Last year's show played host to the official unveiling of the iPhone 4, FaceTime video chat, and a near-final release of iOS 4 that was given to developers. Apple also introduced iMovie for iPhone, and a version of iBooks for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. This year's show is expected to be free of any new iPhone hardware, though the company could surprise with updates to other devices.
