Making Your Own Bath Salts At Home
One product which is becoming an increasingly popular one to make at home is bath salts.

Bath salts are beneficial in a variety of ways. The salts also soak up essential or fragrance oils, and help to retain the scent in the bathwater longer. The basic ingredient for any type of bath salt is, obviously, salt. Several varieties of salt are used in making bath salts, however; iodized salt, or table salt, is very drying to the skin, so it is best to avoid it in favor of other types of salt.

A great basic recipe for bath salts is:
3 parts Epsom salt
2 parts baking soda
1 part sea salt or borax

This recipe will make a basic bath salt blend, to which you can add essential oils, colorants, dried herbs, and other additives to make a variety of products.
Dendritic salt is very fine, and therefore has greater surface area than regular salt; this means that it will help to retain colorants and fragrances better than Epsom or sea salt.

Making Your Own Bath Salts - 3 Beautiful Fragrances To Useexecutive summary about Making yor own Bath salts by Deon Du Plessis

Making your own bath salt is not only fun but it can save you a lot of money and if you are an entrepreneur it can even make you a lot of money. Bath salts are easy to make yet it sells for sky high prices in beauty store. One of the reasons why they can sell for that high is because of the unique and beautiful flavors that some of them have. While making a basic bath salt is easy, doing something that has a great balance of fragrance is both an art and a skill.

Salt works really well because it can absorb fragrance that well. It can also absorb certain minerals which is why it has certain therapeutic qualities. It all depends on what you add into your bath salt recipe. Lets quickly look at 3 great fragrances you can use.

1. Lavender
This is a classic. Whats great about lavender is the fact that you can use your own lavender from the garden for maximum effect. Simply add fresh lavender that is finely chopped into your salt mix. Then seal it with he salt and allow to rest for a few days to fully absorb the fragrance.

2. Vanilla And Honey
This is another very popular fragrance and one that is a bit harder to work with. You can use fresh vanilla beans but make sure you keep it in the stalk. Bash the stalk up before you add it to the salt mix. The best way to add hone is to mix it with boiling water so that its a runny liquid. Once you've filled your jar with salt, slowly pour the honey water over the salt and make sure you only use a small amount so that less than 1/10 of the jar ends up with liquid at the bottom -otherwise the salt will completely dissolve.

3. Lemon
This is definitely a more interesting fragrance and if you want you can combine it with orange to have a fuller citrus flavor. All you need to do is to add the zest of the lemon into your salt mix. Be sure to add enough zest to get enough fragrance into the salt.

In a small saucepan bring your vinegar, water, sugar, salt, turmeric, and dry mustard to boil and then pour over the pickles in the jars. Then clean the tops of the jars and put the lids and rings tightly onto the jars.

Cold pack your pickles for about 5 minutes. If your brine for the pickles does not quite fill your jars simply add a little water to fill the jar.
