There are numerous versions of stories and types of superstitions involved to Friday the 13th. People with this phobia, according to the severity of their symptoms, express their fears when Friday the 13th comes.



The great flood started on Friday the 13th. Friday is named after a goddess Freya, who is associated with love and fertility. There are many, many stories and taboos related to Friday the 13th: did you know if you cut your hair on Friday the 13th, one of your relatives will die? Sometimes Friday the 13th is called Hangman's day because it's been traditionally a day to hang criminals. Some say if you are born on Friday the 13th, you will be unlucky all your life; in contrast, some say if Friday 13th as your birthday becomes your lucky day. Jason the famous horror film character was born on Friday the 13th. Jason and Friday the 13th goes way back to 1980s. When the movie Friday the 13th was released, it was a big hit. Other horror movies are purposefully released on Friday the 13th: 2012, Resident Evil 5, and another film of Friday the 13th series is planned to be released on Friday the 13th, 2013.Good Friday is said to be a medicine for bad Friday, which is Friday the 13th.

For those fearing this day who are unaware from what they suffer, it is called paraskavedekatriaphobia. That phobia could definitely impinge on one's dating life. Galiophobia (fear of French culture) could serve to avoid some expensive meals. Red Lobster would similarly hope that very few suffer from ostraconophobia (fear of shellfish).



Those suffering from allodoxaphobia (fear of opinions) are best served to avoid this site. Break ups can be made easier by claiming a strong case of philophobia (fear of falling in love). Other phobias seem quite logical. A good case of ballistophobia (fear of bullets and missiles) serves us all well. All rational people also have a dose of nucleomituphobia (fear of nuclear weapons) and atomosophobia (fear of an atomic explosion). Peniaphobia (fear of poverty) can certainly serve to be a motivating factor. We all should have a good case of politicophobia (fear of politicians).



Genophobia (fear of sex) would be a terrible afflication indeed. Most men similarly would hate to come down with caligynephobia (fear of beautiful women). A kid would miss out on a lot should they contract coulrophobia (fear of clowns) or cyclophobia (fear of bicycles). Barophobia (fear of gravity) is one such phobia which is hard to explain.
