"We suspect that it will be divided into several sections that will show how much of various types of food you should eat.
USDA said in a statement this week that the new food icon will become "part of a comprehensive nutrition communication initiative that provides consumers with easy to understand the recommendations, a new web site with expanded information, and other tools and resources.
Food Guide Pyramid was introduced in 1992 and was replaced in 2005 by MyPyramid.
"Pyramid, to make it more subtle, are not considered as major public health success, It was confusing and divided into many parts of the complex."
The original version is widely recognized hierarchy pyramid shows food groups. Grains, vegetables and fruits are represented in the bottom of the pyramid, suggesting it should be eaten frequently. Food to be consumed in moderation in part, such as fat, dairy products and meat, is the top icon.
Version 2005 has been vertical, not horizontal, the blocks represent different food groups. It also has a figure stepped into the side of the pyramid, given the consumers of the need for training.
