Solar batteries account for 1 in 5 regions of the Samsung Group has been identified as the next driver of growth last year together with car batteries, light emitting diode (LED), medical equipment and health business. The group is planning to invest a total of 23 trillion won in the new development a business solar battery.

Samsung SDI, which also makes rechargeable batteries and plasma flat screens, said the aim to secure 8% of the global market of solar battery in 2015.
